Project: Leake Street
Service: Fabrication of VM Pigmento Blue Zinc arches
Scope: Fabrication for five new arch enclosures
Client: ITC Concepts
Beneath Waterloo Station lies Leake Street, more famously known as Banksy Tunnel. In 2008, Banksy organised a collaboration with other artists to decorate the tunnel walls with graffiti and since then, it has been one of London’s most famous streets for artform.
However, the surrounding arches adjacent to the street remained untouched and were in need of revitalising. EFP were commissioned to install five new enclosures to separate arches over the existing exposed steel frame.
VM Pigmento Blue Zinc was utilised to enhance the entrances to each arch and give the street a uniformity it previously lacked. The derelict arches are occupied by new shops and restaurants to welcome visitors to the famous street.
